Hamburg-based food tech company goodBytz introduces SAM, a new and globally unique product: a fully integrated robotic kitchen built inside a transportable container. For the first time, SAM enables high-volume preparation of freshly cooked meals with consistent quality, independent of location.

goodBytz, the Hamburg-based food tech company developing autonomous kitchen systems, has been awarded first place at the Robotics Award 2026. The award recognizes innovations in robotics that demonstrate real-world application and impact.

At EDEKA Ristow in Kiel-Heikendorf, a fully autonomous goodBytz robot kitchen is going into operation for the first time. The system prepares complete, fresh meals in a very small space – from cooking and serving through to fully automatic washing up – setting a new standard for hot food directly within grocery retail.

The autonomous robot kitchen by goodBytz was officially put into operation today at the U.S. Army base Camp Walker in Daegu, South Korea. With this, the Hamburg-based food-tech company is entering the operational phase of its largest project to date and will from now on provide soldiers on site with freshly cooked meals.

Through a strategic partnership with avitea Industrieservice, an industrial service provider specializing in logistics, facility, and production services, the company is now tapping into Germany’s mid-sized business sector.

Hamburg based food tech startup goodBytz is entering the defense sector with a flagship project for the U.S. Army. For the first time, a fully autonomous robotic kitchen is set to be deployed for military purposes. The first installation will launch later this year at a U.S. base in South Korea. A second system will follow in spring 2026.
